Biography. Originally from Denmark, singer/songwriter Heidi Gellert Andersen (A.K.A. just Heidi Gellert) has a very exceptional sense of melody and a unique poetic lyric style. Though she has her own place in the pop-rock category she would best be described as Sheryl Crow meets Carole King with a touch of Norah Jones. Heidi started in the entertainment industry very young in her home country. Working as a TV co-host, starred in musicals and theater. In 2002 she went to Los Angeles mainly to attend the UCLA Music Business Certificate program. Before that she spent a lot of time in New York, where she acted in several independent film projects and performed twice on Good Morning America with The Harlem Gospel Choir, while at the same time writing songs. In December 2003 Heidi felt very honored to receive the "Diamond Halo Award" by The California Motion Picture Council for her “Outstanding Contribution to Entertainment Industry”. Heidi’s submissions of songs to the “Song Of The Year” contest in 2004 had her receive an Honorable Mention for her collaboration with Myles West and was also recognized as “Suggested Artist” for her own song "Nothing We Can Do". She is currently working on her debut album. The first single “Waking Up The Sun”, has been produced by gifted musician, songwriter and producer Myles West, who has also produced Heidi's power ballad "Tell Me Where". Other recent recordings by Miss Anderseni, is the above mentioned original song "Nothing We Can Do". The demo was recorded by the help of talented singer and songwriter Justin Young and the vocals was recorded by the help of Dan Beeston. Heidi will be in her native country Denmark from the middle of May until the middle of July. She will be playing live in the Los Angeles area in the late summer so check back for updates.
